History of Camp Adventure, Inc.

Camp Adventure was founded in Emporia, Kansas, by Ann Sadler in 1973.  Ann was the mother of a child born with Spina Bifida.  She wanted her disabled daughter to attend summer camp just like her other children did every summer.  But in 1973, there were no summer camps available for children with disabilities.  That is when she and her husband formed Camp Adventure Incorporated. 

Camp Adventure is a non-profit, non-denominational, Christian summer camp for physically disabled youth and adults.  We provide a week long adventure geared toward the capabilities of physically disabled youth and adults.  Camp Adventure is run solely by donations and staffed completely by volunteers.
