Camp Adventure Inc., the Summer Camp

Camp Adventure is a non-profit, non-denominational, Christian summer camp.  We provide a week long adventure geared toward the capabilities of physically disabled youth and adults.  Camp Adventure is run solely by donations and staffed completely by volunteers.

Each year classes, activities and programs are based on a weekly inspirational theme.  Classes are offered on a daily basis with a wide variety of subjects, such as, Computers, Campfire Cooking, Crafts, Bible Study, Yearbook, Karate, Boccia and Nature.  Excitement and fellowship at the lake, campfires, fishing, boating and daily meals are just a part of the many activities that bring campers, counselors and staff back every year. Registered Nurses, WSI Personnel, trained counselors and a 1-to-1 camper / counselor ratio all contribute to Camp Adventure’s 37 years of success.  Carefully prepared programs and services provide a safe, fun and valuable growth experience for campers, counselors and staff.

Camp Adventure has NO paid employees.  Instead, approximately 110 people take a week of their summer vacation to serve as staff.  It is this commitment of time, and the financial support of many individuals which keep Camp Adventure alive.

The actual cost per camper is $1050.  This covers, medical care needed, personal care attendant for the week, meals, snacks, activities and special programs for the week.  The campers are requested to donate $500 of the actual cost.  There are Camperships available for the many campers that are unable to pay the requested donation.  No one is turned away due to their inability to pay.  This is where Camp Adventure relies heavily on financial support from individuals, clubs, businesses and organizations to help cover the costs of the week long adventure.  All donations are tax deductible.

At Camp Adventure, Campers leave their world of pain, frustration and judgemental attitudes of society to embark upon an adventure that builds self-steem, self-confidence and provides fellowship and acceptance. 

Once you attend Camp Adventure as a Camper, Counselor or Senior Staff, your life will never be the same.  It is truely an unforgettable, spiritual and emotional growth experience for all who participate.
