Camp Adventure, a non-profit, non-denominational, Christian summer camp for the physically disabled, is looking for individuals to serve as Counselors and Senior Staff.  Once  you attend Camp Adventure as a Camper, Counselor or Senior Staff your life will never be the same.  It is truely an unforgettable, spiritual and emotional growth experience for all who attend. 

At Camp Adventure, Counselors and Senior Staff help Campers leave their world of pain, frustration and the judgemental attitudes of society to embark upon an adventure that builds self-esteem, self-confidence and provides fellowship and acceptance.  For many of our Campers, this is their only vacation and the only time throughout the year that they can truely feel accepted and "normal". 

About 75% of our Counselors and Senior Staff return year after year.  Many of our Veteran, meaning they have attended Camp Adventure in the past and continue to attend, Counselors have gone on to careers in the healthcare or social service area following their summer at Camp Adventure. 

Counselors go through an intensive two day training program before the campers arrive.  They learn about camp rules, camp policies and procedures, different diagnoses, saftey issues, dressing techniques, feeding, transfers, personal hygiene, emotional aspects of being at camp and how to care for their specific camper.  They also have time to get to know and bond with one another through ice breakers and teamwork games.  Counselor's are paired one-to-one with a Camper.  The only requirements for Counselors are must be at least 14, willing to help others and eagerness to make a difference in someone's life.

At Camp Adventure most of our Senior Staff have worked their way up through the ranks and are usually Veterans.  However, we will make acceptions.  Senior Staff includes Camp Directors, Camp Pastor, Cooks, Store Keepers, Health Officers, Program Staff, Dinning Hall Staff, Camp Moms, Lake Front Staff, WSI Staff, Dorm Counselors and more.  Senior Staff must be over 21 years of age and are usually 30 or older.  Many of our Senior Staff have been coming to Camp Adventure for many years.  We currently do not have any Rookie Senior Staff, however, 19% have under 5 years experience, 62% have 5 - 14 years of experience and 19% have over 15 years of experience.  One of our Senior Staff members has been coming for 28 years with a few more not too far behind.  The Senior Staff ratio varies every year but there is usually 1+ Senior Staff Members per each Camper/Counselor Pair.  Camp Adventure also has a Security Guard patrolling the facilities and the campgrounds after lights out.
