When we are in recovery, it’s important not to let our guard down around any potential triggers because they can cause us to relapse if we’re not careful.
When it comes time for you to avoid these triggers, there are a few things that may be helpful:
- Know what your triggers are before hand so that when they show up later on in life (and they will), then at least now there will be less of an impact on how much control over yourself as well as your emotions and actions during these situations where those particular things come up again.

You need something productive and enjoyable to do with your time, or else it will be easy for you to slip back into old patterns.
